  Building a Trade/Vocational Center
for the Youth of Kampala, Uganda

Young people (ages 18-30) make up 30% of Uganda’s population.  Many are orphaned or fatherless due to AIDS, malaria, civil strife, polygamist families and poverty.  Left with no alternative, children often assume the roles of adults in their households.  Many go without adequate nutrition, basic health care, housing, and clothing. Because of these and other factors, many people are  denied an education.
Young girls are even at a greater risk,
making them vulnerable to sex trafficking.
There is an ache in our hearts to do something to stop this cycle of brokenness.  Kampala’s unemployment rate is at 60%.  The youth make up 83% of the unemployed.  With the Trade/Vocational Skills Center, we plan to teach and disciple young men and women practical skills from a biblical, God-centered perspective.  Thus, imparting hope for a promising future.
