Our Children:
Melissa is a full-time children's pastor at City Bible Church on the Rocky Butte Campus. She also has her degree in teaching and her masters in ESL. Her passion is for the poor and broken that live in our inner-cities. She is also over our church's "Stitches" ministry that buses up children from section 8 apartment complexes to our City Kids services on Sunday mornings. She is also over our evangelism outreach, Live/Love, at CBC.
Sarah and Matt Jenson live in Pleasanton, California. Matt is an Arborhist and Sarah home schools their four children. She also handles all the calls and schedules all the appointments for the family business, Elite Tree Service. They also developed, lead and oversee the children's ministry at their local church.
Amanda is a social worker for the Department of Human Services in Gresham, Oregon. She deeply cares about her clients and the broken children that she works with. Her passion goes beyond her job as she desires to be influential in encouraging Christian families to become foster parents. She is also serves on the worship team at the CBC Pearl Campus.
Matthew and Kristen Vogel, are full time 3rd year dental students at the Oregon Health Science University School of Dentistry. They attend the City Bible Church Pearl Campus which is located nearest to where they live and go to school. There are many college and university students that attend that campus making it a great place for Matt and Kristen to bring along their fellow classmates to church with them. They both volunteer at the Compassion Connect dental clinics that are hosted in the Portland-Metro areas throughout the year.
Gabe is learning the woodworking trade. He also has a strong desire to help the down and out, especially those who have been orphaned and are struggling with working through abandonment and rejection issues.
Joseph is a student at Portland Bible College. He is a shift manager and barista at Sisters Caffe in down town Portland at the Pearl. He enjoys working in the caffe at the CBC Pearl Campus and using his photography skills at special events and conferences at CBC. He also does some free lance photography on the side. He too has a heart for the poor and is a core leader at Night Strike where each Thursday night under the Burnside bridge around 150 young people volunteer to; cut hair, wash feet, provide socks, blankets, provide a meal, etc. to Portland's homeless. Upon graduation from PBC, Joseph wants to continue his education, and become a high school art teacher.
Ethel Gwinnutt, our Mom and Grandma is the faithful, valiant, prayer warrior who has prayed all of us through the different seasons of life. We are thankful for her life, she is a woman of faith. (I should have put her first on the list!)
